Have An Idea?

The greatest hope that our best friends have is us—every one of us who cares.  We’ve let them down far too long, and we do it every six seconds as another well-meaning but unloved dog or cat dies from cruelty or shelter killing.  With a challenge so huge, all of us who care must come together once and for all. Become part of the emerging K9Nation; pitch in and join a national team in our important organizational stage. Your imagination, your vision, your ideas, your leadership can do so much. The end of so much suffering begins with each individual.

What are National Organizational Teams?

Volunteer your ideas, knowledge, expertise, and/or skills as you join other Citizens in creating the initial K9Nation infrastructure during our organizational stage. National organizational teams take the initiative in creating the blueprints and build establish procedures for the operational Divisions, Kommunities, and the Ambassador Program. This is a virtual team utilizing online communication; enthusiastic participants may volunteer to take the lead as team chairs.

National Organizational Team For Kommunities

If Citizen volunteers are K9Nation’s lifeblood, then our heart is the network of local action units we call Kommunities. This team establishes the role and infrastructure of Kommunities
by deciding how they can best serve the local area, and by creating an organizational blueprint, policies, and procedures that specify organization, volunteer positions, and responsibilities. Citizens wanting to start or help start a Kommunity in their local areas are asked to first join the this team to help lay the foundation. Or, if you are otherwise enthusiastic about getting a Kommunity in your location, serving on the advisory board of your local Kommunity, or just contributing your ideas, you are encouraged to participate on this team.

National Organizational Team For The Ambassador Corps

Participants establish an organizational infrastructure for the program including the role and responsibilities of ambassadors in K9Nation regions in states throughout America. No special skills are required, but those with related knowledge, skills, and experience are encouraged to participate.
Serving on this committee does not imply that the volunteer has a desire to serve as a regional ambassador; however, the first step for those considering service as an ambassador is to help establish the infrastructure by participating in this team.

No special skills are required, but those with ideas and, especially, related knowledge, skills, and experience are encouraged to participate.

National Education Division Organizational Team

Creating massive public awareness of America’s pet overpopulation and K9Nation’s mission and action plan is the Education Division’s first priority, but the division’s main purpose is to create and implement public educational efforts that build respect for our best friends, foster the human-dog/cat bond, and help pet owners to create life-long relationships with their animals. Utilizing a variety of education and communication methods, our efforts are aimed at people of all ages—children, youth, adults, and seniors.

Participants establish and implement goals consistent with the K9Nation mission for planning and implementing the Education Division.
Participation on this team is suggested for individuals who enthusiastically identify with the K9Nation purpose, mission, and goals as they relate particularly to education, especially those who may be serious about playing a leading organizational role. No special skills are required, but those with related knowledge, skills, and experience are encouraged to participate; your ideas and leadership are needed and welcome.

National Support Division Organizational Team

Without question, Support—intensive support throughout America—is our paramount effort. Because the support we receive underlies everything we are able to do, it must assume a position of greatest importance attracting skills and talent, as well as enthusiastic Citizens with ideas to share.

Team members establish effective and innovative Support Division infrastructure to serve as a fundamental part of K9Nation’s ability to accomplish its goals.  With the immense challenges we face as an organization, sound financial strength with vast national support is vital.

No special skills are required and we encourage Citizens to contribute their creativity and imagination, but those with related knowledge, skills, and experience in fundraising or philanthropic and charitable funding/management are also encouraged to participate.

National Legislative Division Organizational Team

What role should legislation play in America’s pet overpopulation? Is the making of laws the best way to solve problems? Is enforcement realistic? These are questions Citizens must answer as they consider K9Nation’s legislative role. A K9N founding position is that the legal definition of “cruelty” toward our dogs and cats should be defined in specific measurable terms in order to determine accountability. Team members consider these and other aspects of the Legislative Division operations in establishing the division’s infrastructure, procedures, and goals.

No special skills or legal background are required, and we encourage Citizens with and without experience in this field to join the team. Those with related knowledge, skills, and experience--especially attorneys familiar with anti-cruelty and animal welfare issues and legislation--are encouraged to participate.

What are National Advisory Teams?

While Organizational Teams actually create infrastructure, Advisory Teams provide advice—ideas, suggestions, and recommended procedures. Participants should have a background and expertise in the team’s related field. Experts and professionals willing to volunteer their help in creating a dynamic K9Nation are needed and welcome. Participants decide their own parameters as to their contribution to their team; you will never be asked to do more than you are willing.

National Team For Internet Utilization

The purpose of this team is to suggest and evaluate most effective methods of taking advantage of the Internet to create and maximize awareness, build K9N Citizen numbers, stimulate fundraising, fulfill K9N’s mission, and to achieve our goals.  The team advises on the social media, social networking, the K9Nation consumer web site, etc.

If you are interested in representing K9Nation in social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), or in Internet marketing (social networking, blogging, video promotion, etc.) you are encouraged to join this committee; your knowledge and experience are needed and welcomed.
